PROFESSIONAL VISIT PASS
VISIT PASS (PROFESSIONAL)
Visit Pass (Professional) are issued to foreign nationals who wish to remain and provide specific professional visit for a short period in Malaysia.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES/ CONDITIONS
- Applications should be submitted by a sponsor in Malaysia prior to the entry of the applicant into the country.
- The validity of the pass is subjected to the requirement and conditions of Immigration rules and policies for a period not exceeding 12 months.
- Application for a Visit Pass (Professional) to undergo training at a factory or hotel only applicable for a period not exceeding six months.

PUSPAL
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 All applications for filming by Foreign Film Production Companies and performances by Foreign Artistes must go through a one-stop application center managed by the responsible Ministry.
2.0 ELIGIBLE APPLICANT CATEGORIES
2.1 Foreign Artistes
An individual or a group of individuals who are not Malaysian citizens and not permanent residents of Malaysia, who are filmed in a movie or hold a performance.
2.2 Foreign Crew
An individual or a group of individuals who are not Malaysian citizens and not permanent residents of Malaysia, who are involved in a movie filming or a performance in Malaysia. This includes directors, camera operators, technical staff, makeup artists, crew, officers, and personnel, as well as any other positions required for a foreign performance and film production.
3.0 APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Applicants must be outside of Malaysia when submitting the application.
3.2 Applicants are only allowed to enter Malaysia after obtaining approval for their Professional Visit Pass (PLIK) and Visa with Reference (VDR).

4.0 APPLICATION PROCEDURES
4.1 Applications must be submitted online to the One-Stop Centre for Foreign Film Production and Foreign Artiste Performances (PUSPAL), Ministry of Communications, using the ePUSPAL Portal via this link:

4.2 Approval for filming and performing by Foreign Artists must be obtained from the PUSPAL before submitting a Visit Pass (Professional) application to the Malaysian Immigration Department.

Visit Pass Application (Professional) for this category is issued to foreign nationals who wish to serve as:
- Religious Teacher (Including Imam of the Mosque)
- Quran teacher
- Arabic Language Teacher
Applications for Foreign Students who wish to pursue Islamic Studies in Malaysia are as follows:
- Students under the age of 18
- Students 18 years of age and older
- Convert students for all ages

TERMS OF APPLICATION
- Visit Pass (Professional) Applicants must be in the country of origin when the application is made and enter/ come to Malaysia through an Entry Visa issued by the Malaysian Embassy/ Representation in the country of origin.
- The application must be submitted by the employer/ sponsor/ school
- The application must be submitted at least one (1) month before the applicant starts serving/ starts studies.
Visit Pass (Ikhtisas) is issued to foreign nationals who wish to work as Hindu Sami (Gurukkal), Sikh Sami (Granthi), Priest, Dharma Teacher, and Carver. TERMS OF APPLICATION
- Visit Pass (Professional) Applicants must be in the country of origin when the application is made and enter/ come to Malaysia through an Entry Visa issued by the Malaysian Embassy/ Representation in the country of origin.
- The maximum period allowed is for three (3) years only.
- Meet the age requirements as follows:
- 40 years and above for Hindu monks (Gurukkal), Granthi, Dharma Teachers and Priests
- 35 years and above for religious musicians
- 30 years and above for religious sculptors
- Applications must be submitted by the employer/ sponsor/ temple/ Gurdwara/ Tokong
- The application must be submitted at least one (1) month before the applicant starts working
- Approval of the application depends on the decision of the Special Committee on Visit Pass (Professional)
Visit Pass (Professional) for this category is issued to international students studying under Malaysia Bible Seminary.
Visit Pass (Professional) for this category is issued to international participants who participate in government cooperation programs/ at the invitation of the government/ on government goals.
