GRADUATE (SOCIAL) VISIT PASS
1. WHAT IS A GRADUATE (SOCIAL) VISIT PASS?
The Graduate (Social) Visit Pass is a long-term visit pass that allows the pass holder to stay in Malaysia for the purpose of domestic tourism, searching for or exploring programs at local educational institutions to continue their studies, and working part-time in permitted employment sectors according to legislation.
2. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THIS PASS?
International students who have completed their studies at the Bachelor’s Degree level and above at any Higher Education Institution (HEI) in Malaysia.
3. WHAT IS THE ELIGIBLE AGE LIMIT FOR THIS PASS APPLICATION?
There is no specified age limit.

5. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY FOR THE GRADUATE (SOCIAL) VISIT PASS?
- Have completed / Will complete studies with proof via a confirmation of completion letter issued by the HEI.
- The applicant’s Student Pass must be valid at the time of application.
- Possess a passport with a validity of at least 18 months.
- Possess an active health insurance policy for a period of 12 months.
- Submit a Personal Bond with a Malaysian citizen sponsor who has an income of not less than RM1,500.00.
6. HOW TO APPLY FOR THIS PASS?
Applications must be made through the official EMGS website at www.educationmalaysia.gov.my. Complete applications will be processed at the Student Pass Unit, Immigration Headquarters, Putrajaya.
7. WHAT ARE THE FEES FOR THIS PASS?
- RM600.00 for the Graduate (Social) Visit Pass.
- RM600.00 for the Social Visit Pass for each dependent.
- The Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) fee is subject to the country’s eligibility rate.
8. WHAT ARE THE FACILITIES OBTAINED WITH THIS PASS?
- Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) which provides the facility to enter and exit the country.
- Can bring existing dependents in Malaysia.
- Can travel anywhere within the country.
- Can undergo programs at local educational institutions in Malaysia.
- Can work part-time according to legislation.
9. WHAT IS THE VALIDITY PERIOD OF THE GRADUATE (SOCIAL) VISIT PASS?
12 months.
10. IS THE PASS HOLDER ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR A RESIDENT PASS AND ENTRY PERMIT?
No.
11. CAN THE PASS HOLDER CONVERT TO ANOTHER LONG-TERM PASS?
Yes, but it is subject to the conditions of the specific pass currently in effect.
12. DOES THIS PASS REQUIRE A CHECK-OUT MEMO AFTER THE VALIDITY PERIOD EXPIRES?
No.
13. CAN THE VALIDITY OF THIS PASS BE EXTENDED?
No.
14. WHAT IS THE PROCESSING TIME FOR THIS PASS APPROVAL?
14 working days after the complete application is received by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM).
