Introduction

 

Malaysia Passport is a valid travel document issued by the Malaysian Government for the purpose of travelling abroad.

 

 

Eligibility


Malaysian citizen.

 


Where to Apply


Any Immigration Offices and Malaysian Representative Offices.


Validity


Valid for two (2) years OR  five (5) years from the date of issued.

 

Balance of the passport validity not more than 6 months can be carried with the following conditions.

 

  • 2 unused available pages
  • Not a lost/damaged case
  • Not cases under investigation.

    RM100.00/ 2 years

    RM300.00 / 5 years

     


    Special price

     

    RM150.00 / 5 years

     

     

    Eligibility for special Fees


    - Children below 12 years old,

    - Student below 21 years old with proof to study abroad on the daysubmission.

     

     

    Exemption of payment

     

    Exemption of payment is given to the handicap or disable person on the condition that they produce a letter from the Welfare Department.

     

    Modes of payment

  • In Malaysia - under the name of Director- General of Immigration Malaysia or State Immigration Director only.

  • Overseas - under the name of Malaysia High Commissioner/Deputy Malaysia High Commissioner/Malaysia Ambassador/Malaysia Consulate General (where applicable)

    Personal or company cheque is not accepted.


    How to apply?

     

    Procedures as follow:

     

    • Appear at the Immigration office or Malaysian Representative Offices abroad.

    • Duly completed Form Im.42-pin 1/97. The form can be obtained from any Malaysia Immigration office or downloaded from Malaysia Immigration Department website (Should be printed both side using white A4 size paper).

    • Refer to the following table for first time application :

    Application for Replacement of Malaysia International Passport.

     

    Applicants Conditions
    Under 18 years
    • Same documents as first time application
    • Current Malaysia International Passport

    • 2 copies of recent photograph with light blue background (3.5 X 5 cm)
    Above 18 years
    • Identification Card (MyKad)

    • If the applicant is not in possession of MyKad, Temporary Identification Certificate (JPN.KPPK 09 or 11) AND Birth certificate is required.
    • Current Malaysia International Passport

    • 2 copies of recent photograph with light blue background (3.5 X 5 cm)

     

    Client Charter

     

    Malaysia Passport will be issued within 2 hours after payment has been made before 3.30 pm at selected issuing office only.

     

    Lost/Damage Malaysian Passport case

     

    Definition of damage passport :

  • Wet
  • Scratched
  • Torn
  • Burnt
  • Eaten by termites/insect
  • Spoiled photograph
  • Tempered passport

    Malaysian who lost the passport should :

     

    i. Lodge a police report
    ii. Refer to the nearest Immigration office fto submit the application for passport replacement by completing all the following requirements :

    • Identification Card
    • Parent's Identification Card (for applicant below 18 years)
    • Application Form IM.42 Pin 1/97
    • Questionnaire Form IM42c
    • 2 copies of Recent photograph with light blue background in the size of 3.5 X 5 cm.
    • Police report
    • Copy of lost passport (if any)
    • Marriage/divorced certificate (below 18 years and marriage/divorced)
    • Confirmation letter of employment for those working abroad.
    • Offer letter to study abroad
    • Emergency Certificate with a report from Entry Point Immigration office
    • Verification of status (for a Permanent Resident of third country)
    • Report form Fire and Rescue Department if the lost is caused by fire
    • Letter from municipal council if lost is caused by flood.

     

     

    General Information

     

    • The usage of ‘anak lelaki (AL)' and ‘anak perempuan (AP)' for Indian and non-muslim citizens on the main page has been removed but stated on the ‘PEMERHATIAN/OBSERVATION' page.
    •  

    • Please bear in not claimed after three (3) months from the date of collection as stated in the payment receipt will be cancelled and the fee paid for is non-refundable. Should the applicant intend to obtain the passport, he or she needs to submit a fresh application and it will be according to the normal procedure.
    •  

    • Particular of children including infant will no longer be included in the parent's passport. as she/he will be issued with separate passport. Change of photograph for the children two years and above can be made by completing the Im.42-pin 1/97 form attached with two recent photographs and birth certificate (original and copy). The applicant must appear before the Immigration officer.
    •  

    • Under the Guardianship Act 1961 - 1999 amendment, consent can be given by the mother for child under 18 years old.
    • Lost of passport abroad should be reported to the nearest Malaysian Representative Office for replacement of passport together with a police report.
    • Application for replacement of lost passport will be sent to Immigration Department Headquarters, Putrajaya Malaysia for decision/process which will take approximately 3-4 months.
