Restricted Passport to Brunei

1. Introduction

The Malaysian Restricted Passport to Brunei Darussalam is a valid travel document issued to Malaysian citizens residing in Sabah, Sarawak and Federal Territory of Labuan for the purpose of entering Brunei Darussalam. Applications for the Malaysian Restricted Passport can be made at the Immigration Office in Sabah, Sarawak and Federal Territory of Labuan.

2. Validity

Valid for a period of five (5) years from the date of issue.

3. Where to Apply

- Any Immigration Office in Sabah, Sarawak and Federal Territory of Labuan
- The applicant must appear before the Immigration officer.

4. Fee RM 50.00

Applicant Place of birth Conditions
18 years old and over Born in Malaysia
  • Identification Card (MyKad)
  • If the applicant is not in possession of MyKad, Temporary Certificate (JPN.KPPK 09 or 11) AND birth certificate is required.
  • 2 copies of a recent photograph with light blue background (3.5 X 5 cm )
Born abroad
  • Identification Card (MyKad)
  • Form W/ Birth Certificate/ Certificate of Status
  • Travel document used for return to Malaysia.
  • 2 copies of a recent photograph with light blue background (3.5 X 5 cm)
Army Officials
  • Army Identification Card
  • 2 copies of a recent photograph with light blue background (3.5 X 5 cm)
Police Officials
  • Police Identification Card
  • Birth Certificate

Under 18 years old Born in Malaysia
  • Identification Card(MyKad)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Parent’s Identification Card (The child and parent must be present to submit the application)
  • 2 copies of a recent photograph with light blue background (3.5 X 5 cm)
Born outside Malaysia
  • Form W/Birth Certificate / Certificate of Status
  • Travel document used to return to Malaysia.
  • Parent’s Identification Card (The child and parent must be present to submit the application)
  • 2 copies of a recent photograph with light blue background (3.5 X 5 cm)
Deceased Parent(s)
  • Identification Card (MyKad)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Death Certificate of the Deceased
  • Statutory Declaration from legitimate guardian
  • Guardian’s Identification Card or valid passport (for foreigner)
  • Identification Card of the living parent
  • 2 copies of a recent photograph with light blue background (3.5 X 5 cm)
Divorced parent
  • Identification Card (MyKad)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Court order of child custody
  • Certificate of divorce
  • Identification Card of legal guardian

Parents cannot be traced
