Objectives

• Giving advice on Laws with high degree of quality and professionalism in accordance to the Federal Constitution and the Laws of Malaysia to the Government from time to time.
• As one Division :
• i. Recognize for being efficient, professional and responsive in giving advice on Laws and;
• ii. Able to make just decision by taking into account public interest, justice and continuous benefit to the Nation.

Vision

To become one Division that is having the authority to give professional and quality advice in accordance to the Laws of the Nation.

Functions
• Giving advice on issues of Laws with the exception of International and Islamic Laws and other issues as referred by the Government.
• Interpret Laws when required by the Government.
• Drafting and examining laws documentations such as Laws Notices, Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding whereby the interest of the Government is protected.
• Conducting study and research on laws when required by the Government.
• Giving advice and drafting laws on Government policies and submitting the draft to the parliamentary legislator for approval.
• Participating in negotiation on behalf the Government on the privatization of information technology and communication projects.
• To attend meeting on the invitation of the Government and giving advice on matters discussed, ensuring that decision on policies is in accordance to the Rule of Law.
• Participating in information sharing session and practices on issues of laws and giving expert advice both to the Government and non-Government agencies.
