Malaysia My Second Home
The Government of Malaysia welcomes nationals of all countries in the world (except Israel and Yugoslavia) to enter and reside in this country on the Long Term Social Visit Pass under the Malaysia My Second Home programme which was previously known as the Silver Hair programme.
 
The programme does NOT promise Permanent Resident status
Procedures and Requirements
  • Age:
    The programme is opened to all ages. Participants of this programme are permitted to bring along their family members, including school going children, and domestic helper..
  • Finance/Source of Income:
    It is mandatory that participants hold a savings (fixed deposit) account at any financial institution or bank in Malaysia. (The savings may only be withdrawn after expiry of the Long Term Social Visit Pass.)
    Individual applicant: Savings of RM100,000.00 or more
    Application by husband and wife: Savings of RM150,000.00 or more
    Or
    Individual applicant: Monthly income of RM7,000.00 or more
    Application by husband and wife: Monthly income of RM10,000.00 or more
    (The source of monthly income must be from pension, wages or other fixed and regular income)
  • Issue of Social Visit Pass:
    The approval is for a term of 5 years and may be extended for another 5 years. However, this Social Visit Pass may be extended from year to year. Programme participants will be issued with Multiple Entry Visas.
  • Sponsor:
    The need for a sponsor may be relaxed if it is proved that the participant's background, financial standing and lifestyle are true and honest. Participants may also obtain the services of companies approved by the Department of Immigration, Malaysia to act as sponsors.
     
      Application Procedure
    The completed application must be submitted to:

    Headquarters of the Department of Immigration, Malaysia
    Level 4, Block I (North)
    Pusat Bandar Damansara
    50550 Kuala Lumpur
    or at a Malaysian Foreign Mission

    For Sabah and Sarawak, applications may be submitted to
    Immigration Office, States of Sabah and Sarawak

    Form and Attachments:
  • Letter of Application by the applicant
  • 2 copies of Social Visit Pass Application form - IMM.12- Visit Pass Application form
  • 2 copies of passport-size photographs of the applicant and spouse (if applicable)
  • Copy of passport/travel document of the applicant and spouse (if applicable)
  • Marriage Certificate (if accompanied by spouse)
  • Certified copy of Bank Statement
  • Certified copy of medical insurance policy and medical report from Malaysia
  • Other relevant documents
    Fees:
    The chargeable fee is RM90.00 for one (1) year.
