  Social Visit Pass
 
Introduction
Pass is an endorsement that is endorsed in a passport or travel document of a foreigner allowing the individual to enter and remain on a temporary basis in Malaysia.
 
Who Require a Pass
Every foreigner entering Malaysia for the purpose of Social Visit must obtain a Social Visit Pass. Social visit Pass is issued at all point of entry on arrival.
 
Application for Extension of Social Visit Pass
Visitors who enter and stay in this country for the purpose of Social Visit or Touring are not allowed to extend their stay beyond the stipulated duration according to each country. However, an Extension may be given on Special consideration e.g. due to illness, accident, war in home country etc. The visitor must furnish evidence, and also a "confirmed flight ticket' back to their home country.
 
The applicant must abide by the following conditions:
  • Submit application in person
  • Applicant must produce his/ her Passport personally
  • Fill Form IMM. 55 - for extension of Social Visit Pass
  • Confirmed flight ticket to home country or in possession of visa and ticket to a third country
Payment
A fee of RM50.00 each month is for an extension is payable exceeding the third (3rd) month from date of entry
 
 
 Abolition of VISA / VISIT PASS (Business) Facilities
 
All foreign visitors entering Malaysia through the gazette entry points will be given social visit pass for social visits including the following purposes:
  • Visiting Relatives
  • Tourism
  • Journalist / Reporter
  • Attending Meeting
  • Attending Business Discussion
  • Inspection of factory
  • Auditing Company's Account
  • Signing Agreement
  • Doing survey on investment opportunities/setting up factory
  • Attending Seminars
  • On goodwill mission for students or sitting for examinations in University
  • Taking part in sports competitions
  • Other activities not mentioned above but approved by the Director General of Immigration.

Wife of Permanent Resident
  • 1 Photocopy of husband’s Identity Card
  • 1 Photocopy of husband’s Entry Permit
  • 1 Photocopy of wife’s passport (all pages)
  • 1 Photocopy of marriage certificate ( if marriage is registered overseas please attach a Photostat copy of certificate)
  • 2 Passport sized photographs of wife
  • The age of marriage must be above 6 months

  • Social Pass will be given on 6 month to 6 month basis.
    Wife of Citizen (Chinese Nationality)
